The free web version allows you to generate cutting layouts without creating an account.
The iPhone and iPad app also includes project saving, sheet and offcut inventory management, and CSV and PDF export.
Saw kerf is the width of material removed by the saw blade during a cut.
CutStock includes the entered kerf width between parts when calculating a cutting layout.
Set this value to match the actual kerf of the saw blade you are using.
Trim allowance is the extra material added around each part for final trimming or finishing.
The entered allowance is added to all four sides of each part.
For example, an allowance of 5 mm adds a total of 10 mm to both the finished width and finished height.
Saw kerf is calculated separately from trim allowance.
The long edge follows the longer side of the sheet. The short edge follows the shorter side.
CutStock allows you to choose whether the remaining material should be kept along the long edge or the short edge of the sheet.
Choose the direction that produces an offcut that will be easier to reuse.
When 90-degree rotation is enabled, CutStock can rotate parts while calculating the cutting layout.
Disable rotation when the direction of the wood grain or another material property must be maintained.
The app allows you to save the sheet dimensions, part dimensions, saw kerf, trim allowance, and generated cutting layout as a project.
Saved projects can be opened later for review, editing, or recalculation.
Material remaining after a cutting layout is generated can be registered as an offcut in your inventory.
Registered offcuts can be reviewed as available material for future cutting layouts.
When you create a CSV or PDF file, the iOS share sheet will appear.
You can save the file to the Files app, send it to another app, share it with AirDrop, or use any other option shown in the share sheet.
